The noseboost is a trick where the player chains multiple nosebugs in succession, in a short amount of time, resulting in a massive speed boost.

Noseboosts work because nosebugs above 390km/h counteract the effect of friction and so the car accelerates. ~390km/h is thus the minimum speed for a noseboost to begin.

Discovered by TASers Lambda and Na’Guul in September 2021, the noseboost has since revolutionised TASes, pushing them completely into the realm of the humanly impossible. (However, some of the simplest noseboosts are theorised to be possible for RTA gameplay.) The first TAS on a Nadeo track to utilise a noseboost was a 23.58 on the TMNF track A15-Speed by andi, using the dirt bumps at the end to set up a ”nosepos”. See the TAS here.
