Because they can appear random for the players, Turbo Roulette is a pretty despised block, that has never been used in competitive track. Still there are some start strategies that use the fixed pattern of this block to get the 200% boost. The most notable is when a Turbo Roulette is placed right after the start block: going straight reaches the booster at 1.58s, giving the 150% booster, but intentionally going on the side right from the starts allows players to consistently lose around .3s, getting the 200% boost. | Because they can appear random for the players, Turbo Roulette is a pretty despised block, that has never been used in competitive track. Boosters also known internally as turbos, are special blocks that apply an acceleration multiplier while driving on them. In TMUF, there are three types of boosters, which correspond to 3 different Material IDs:
- Turbo (normal booster, 100% boost)
- Turbo2 (red booster, 200% boost)
- Turbo roulette (random booster, 100 to 200%)

These boosters are only available in TMNF. They work on a fixed cycle, and are thus deterministic. A cycle is exactly 1 seconds long, divided as such:
- 4/7 gives 100% boost (tick 0-57)
- 2/7 gives 150% boost (tick 58-85)
- 1/7 gives 200% boost (tick 86-99)

Because they can appear random for the players, Turbo Roulette is a pretty despised block, that has never been used in competitive track. Still there are some start strategies that use the fixed pattern of this block to get the 200% boost. The most notable is when a Turbo Roulette is placed right after the start block: going straight reaches the booster at 1.58s, giving the 150% booster, but intentionally going on the side right from the starts allows players to consistently lose around .3s, getting the 200% boost.
Other strategies exploiting this pattern include going on the side of the boosters to only catch the 200% boost, as explained in this video by Igntul. This trick is known as Heftrick
