In Trackmania, reducing airtime is one of the most basic and useful techniques. Your car is only accelerating while touching the ground, which is why trying to stay in the air for as little as possible is usually beneficial. Ways to reduce airtime include slowing down - either by releasing forwards or braking - or going diagonally before a jump or a dropdown.
Ride Trick
The ride trick refers to a wiggle, left-right or right-left, done to cause the car to tilt and therefore reduce airtime. In TMN and TMNF, a ramm can be used to cause a car tilt as well, in a similar manner to the ride trick. This is known as the flow trick.
